Today I met some new friends. One of them, Carlos, is a Red Brahma / Red Holstein cross that's so large their measuring tape is to small and they need to get a new one, which meant he weighs at least 2,500lbs; his back was up to the top of my head, which is larger than any bovine I've ever met before. Crazy. Even when we met Carlos' brother, who's about 1,000lbs lighter, he couldn't stay away. Jealous Carlos is jealous.
I also met an extraordinarily friendly small cow (forgot to ask what breed she was, or get her name - sorry) who just loved scratches. When I turned to walk away I saw she was already crying.
Then there was a pack of piglets and their mom - one of them was hungry but the mom would just not roll over enough to let down some milk, the little thing spent several minutes trying to get something but didn't seem to be having much luck.
There were also goats, and Aidan took the opportunity of teaching them how to climb onto a large tractor tire that was left in their yard - he's helpful like that.
