"Shannon Gold" butter is anything but "Irish style"

A few days ago I saw a new brand of butter at a local store - "Shannon Gold", and the label said it was "Irish style". This is presumably to compete against Kerrygold butter, one of the richest, most flavorful butters you can buy in the USA; Kerrygold butter is made from cream that was imported from Ireland, its renounced richness presumably a result of the extremely nutritious grass that Irish cows graze on. The problem with the Shannon crap is that they take milk from average American cows and then add the food coloring beta Carotene to make it look richer than it actually is. This is a rather typical response by an American company - if you can't make it the same quality as the market leader, fake it.
